When you are considering which hosting company to use for your website, you might stumble upon free web hosting. As with most things in life, when you hear or see the word free associated with web hosting you should be cautious about what you are actually getting for nothing.

Most domain owners will find that a free web host is often not worth their time as the host simply cannot offer them what they need to create a website that can promote their product or service adequately.

It is not that free web hosting opportunities do not exist; they just may not be truly free. Many of these free hosts require that you allow them to place pop up advertisements on all of their hosted sites as well as distracting banners on the tops, bottoms, and sides of the websites.

For some this is a worthwhile tradeoff, but for others they must consider the fact that their clients will not appreciate the advertisements and will not hang around long enough as a result.
